Context - Adams and Edgar Homes in Sterling

This is a continuation from the last post about the Adams and Edgar families. After they sold their farms, both families moved to Sterling Kansas. J M Adams choose to move there because James had not had much education and wanted his children to be able to attend college. Sterling was the location of Sterling College and John and Tillie might have had similar desires since their children attended the College as well. Below is a photo of James and Rachel Adams in their Sterling home. As much as I love large family photos I also love seeing ancestors in the context where they actually lived. It's cool to see their gramophone and piano as well as all their pictures and the massive bible on the table.

I have a similar picture of Tillie Edgar, though unfortunately the picture has been badly damaged and it's hard to see Tillie herself, and John has been completely cut out. However, it's still interesting to see the kind of curtains they used, the desk in the corner, and Tillie's shoes with so many straps.

Below is a photo of Tillie's faces since it was not very visible in the last photo.
